Finney and Steele are pretty much the same age - Steele is younger by a few months, but by the time you are in your mid 70s, I don't think months make that much of an issue

yes but Tommy Steele was never cool!as a lady of a certain age I can just about remember him and his horrible skiffle group!

Don't know why people are being so skeptical against Steele as Scrooge he's excellent! And DUH! Scrooge is supposed to be an old man! I saw it in 2009 in Birmingham and it is an amazing show, but I agree the prices are a little high. But if we are suggesting new Scrooges, Russ Abbot?

I have no objections to Tommy Steele playing Scrooge, its just overall it is like a panto.... when u first see Scrooge on the stage he has this totally sequinned waistcoat on that just blings....... put me off straight away, since when does Scrooge wear such a thing

I beg to differ.
Pantos do not scare the c*** out of me like the actor playing Jacob Marley did.
I am getting sick of all these good old fashion FAMILY musicals always being accused of being to panto-like ie Chitty, The Wizard of Oz, Shrek and probably Charlie will next year!
