Ghost has been announced to be shutting down, so I believe Viva Forever will be going into the Piccadilly Theatre. I'm not sure of the idea of this musical though. I guess my opinion could change when it officially opens but at the moment it's not a musical I think I would go and see, had I the opportunity.

That said, nobody will like everything and I'm sure there are people who will happily see Viva Forever but wouldn't ever think about seeing Ghost.

I think I'd be one of those - Ghost doesnt appeal to me (not a huge fan of the movie) but the Spice Girls are memories of my childhood, so I'd find it interesting to see how their songs are used in a musical. Plus a book written by Jennifer Saunders has some appeal as well.

I think The Bodyguard is relying on the Whitney factor with the songs. I've been relistening to Spice Girls songs and oddly they could work as musical numbers but I'm not sure if will be the next Mamma Mia! or WWRY, I don't think Viva Forever is a good title, Wannabe would be better.
The reason it's called Viva forever though is apparently because it centres around a latin american orphan character called Viva! Not that i'm a massive fan or anything, just one of my friends works for the production company.

Bit of a waste of time. Launch didn't tell us anything we didn't already know. Previews on 27th November and opens on 11th December at the Piccadilly Theatre. It is currently booking to 1st June 2013. Was hoping for some clues on casting ...
