The only way its good publicity is if this morning the producers plaster newspapers and inboxes etc with adverts. Otherwise, if you didnt already know there is a spice girls musical coming, last night would not have changed that
Rubbish
Ads today would be a waste of time, no one is thinking of booking for anything at the moment

You could never afford to buy what last nights performance did for the musical

not rubbish at all, if no one was thinking of booking for anything it wouldn't already be selling out into late January so that statement, to quote you, is rubbish. Last night did nothing for the musical, if it were a spice girls reunion tour it would be different. You can't ay on one hand it's done wonders for the musical, and then say no one is thinking of booking yet (which as I say is incorrect)

By your logic the Freddie Murcury and Brain May section would have done wonders for WWRY.

The reaction to the Spice Girls was mixed too, I've heard and read 50/50 on whether their perfrmance was any good. Personally id edge on the dodgy side.

To explain: "nobody is booking for anything today" its the day after the Olympics, people are away, you simply don't advertise big til second week of September, it's a fact

And yes I do think WWRY would have been helped last night

26 million people were remiinded of the spice girls last night, that's one hell of an ad!

So wait a month until after the event, when people have moved on and at the end of the Paralympic Games when everyones focus is on that and that closing ceremony.

The spice girls are always in the papers, they never went away.  The initial rush to get tickets has proved that.  Its selling incredibly well

You are saying that they should wait a month, when shows traditionally start to advertise, which is also just as the paralympic games are finishing and the public have moved on. I have never heard of a marketing campaign get given the gift of a one off event (Olympics) and decide to wait a month before they take action on promoting their product. You strike while the iron is hot, even if it does go against traditional promotion times. Spamalot have taken advantage and today sent out emails promoting the show to capitalise on the monty python bit of the ceremony.

And as for your comment about the nation being reminded about the spice girls, they have never gone away. They are always in the press. The public have short memories.

Judy Cramer and dewynters might just know what they're doing

And as for Spamalot they're just desperate

Desperate or not, they are taking advantage of the situation. Viva Forever is not, but then, as I say, they don't need to as they are well on their way to a sellout

I think this is a blatant hint at a reunion tour! Im expecting an announcement something along the lines of "We didnt realise just how much we missed eachother until we performed on that olympic stage"... Dont be surprised people!!

Doubt it. They have other commitments. VB doesn't seem very interested , has her fashion empire, David, kids and doesn't seem to like being the one who doesn't seem to  sing much  .She reportedly had most problems last tour. Emma has her radio show. Mel B has TV commitments. Its like S Club 7 who would have come back for a tour if Jon and Hannah were not busy making new careers in the West End. The SG's  don't need the money - unless they invested really badly.

The Olympics gig though did the job. Its coverage, and, judging by some of  the theatre professionals in the right age group's twitters,  it brings back positive memories. All the newspapers are mentioning the musical in their  reports . it just stirs interest and makes them visible nicely. There's other things coming too. Mel C is going to be perfroming in JCS to enough people to pack Viva for months and Emma already has enough twitter followers to fill it for a year and a popular radioshow.

The interesting bits are the rest of the casting which will decide if its sounds right (and the SG's have to sound right given the disaster it is for most people to try and sing them without matching the  SG's sound) and how much time, interest and money is put into the show if they want it to last . Brian May shows how to do it  tp preserve your legacy - although he missed out not using the WWRY cast as support last night.
