I thought Luke Treadaway was astounding and thought Paul Ritter was very good. However most of the cast delivered various shades of ham. I couldn't bear Niamh Cusack who appeared to be doing a skit of Fiona Shaw for Spitting Image! Every line was delivered as if her life depended on it - talk about over acting
The adaption was okay but the first half very slow. Although I really did like the breaking of the 4th wall and the transition from page to stage. The train 'coup' was so obvious. The rest of the production was like a very weak Complicte Production - sound, projections and definitely movement unispired
But back to Luke, I work a lot with with AS and I could recognise his mannerisms and thought progressions so clearly. He was a very convincing person who is diagnosed with Autism. Top marks. Give the guy an award

Broadway has been very good to me. But then, I've been very good to broadway.

From the NT website:
" We are currently finalising the details for a West End transfer of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time next March. "
Will be interesting to see how they adapt it for a proscenium arch theatre. The staging in the Cottesloe was simply phenomenal.

I was thinking that if they did a strong bank of raked seats in the stalls (similar to Gatz) then perhaps the staging could work (just not in the round. It's all about making those floor projections visible.

I thought of the raked stalls too... would they want to avoid reducing the theatre's capacity though?

It's the National so out of any producer they are the ones who can afford a smaller capacity.

Any word yet if Nicola Walker and Paul Ritter will be in it? They're both brilliant, would be a shame if they weren't.
