Got there at 8.45 as wasn't sure if it would be busy on saturday but no one there and still no one there at 10.00 am when we went in.

It struck me as very peculiar that this closed four weeks early on 6 January with only a few days' notice. http://www.whatsonst...tre, 5 Jan.html Is this common practice in certain circumstances? It seemed odd because anyone considering seeing it would probably not have had time before it closed. I wondered if perhaps cast and crew all went down with a virus at the same time? Or maybe public interest dropped off a cliff once the Olympic year ended? Or did some structural catastrophe occur in the theatre which needed urgent remedy?

It was more than a few days notice, cast were tweeting about it week or so before christmas.

When i bumped into Dylan (who was playing Radcliffe) he was telling me the reason it was closing early was the poor November ticket sales and that was at the beginning of December.

Didn't it extend from its original November close date to February originally? Six months for a play is still a good run.

It still seems odd to announce that a play's closing early at the end of the week, especially if the cast were informed two or three weeks earlier. Why not announce it sooner so as to draw in some straggling audience?
