As I moaned because they had forgotten about Pericles in the RSC proggie for the shipwreck plays I thought I ought to mention that they are doing Pericles at the Roundhouse sometime this year but I can't see exactly when. As usual the RSC brochure requires a degree in data analysis [ is such a thing exists ] and I see that the shipwrecks are all coming to the Roundhouse with Pericles added.
Just to say that the programmes I've seen this year so far are not up to the standards of old [ deep sigh, old codger laments again] and the articles just support whatever weird ideas the director or.... wait for it ...the dramaturg has dreamt up. Since when did we have a dramaturg at the RSC ? In the case of King John, she has allowed an inexperienced director to go badly wrong.

Didn't they do Pericles at the Roundhouse 3 or 4 years ago? I'm not sure I'm ready for another jusy yet, particularly since that one was rather good: lots of Moroccan lanterns, as I recall.

Thanks for letting me know. So the brochure is wrong! All that paper wasted. I wondered what was going on.
