Not that strange, considering he doesn't have anything to do with the film or the stage show and has a long acrimonous history with Cameron Mackintosh.

Not really, besides all the Cameron Mackintosh history he has tweeted good luck to all the Les Mis people and has already spoken about how proud he is of Sam Barks. Plus all the Les Mis dates have been moved around so much...

Les Mis was the Palace's longest tenant but he had no qualms about then moving to the Queens as he wanted it for The Woman in White.

I'm quite surprised he chose the Bodyguard press night over the Les Mis movie premier! I would have chosen Les Mis anyday!
