Heartbreak Hotel starring Derek Jacobi at the 'CFT'. Will anybody be going to see this? Has anyone seen this play before?

House, not Hotel. And yes, I will be seeing this. Don't know the play- Bernard Shaw isn't it?

I have seen it (albeit in a very poor student production) and thought it was not Shaw's best.
Perhaps with great actors, it might be made into something - but it is not a piece I have any desire to revisit!

I love the idea of Shaw writing "Heartbreak Hotel". Other hits written by George Bernard Shaw include "Major Barbara Ann" as made famous by The Beach Boys, and of course the popular "Androcles and the Lion Sleeps Tonight".

"Man and Sunshine Superman", in that famous cover by Donovan.

Shaw has been shamelessly ripped off over the years ..
(Mrs) Warrens Song / Pig, No Pygmalion / through to Dire Straits version of Arms and the Man (or Brothers in). The music world apparently depends on theatre for it's inspiration .....
