I'm new to this forum, but as I live very far from an English-speaking stage (Japan) I'd like to ask you who are, who's your favourite, heart-wrenching stage performer right now?
Best, most emotional, with most presence, most unforgettable, etc. Now or during the last few years.
Youtube is great, but without names it's very much random.
Looking forward to digging deeper into your advice!
Thanks in advance.

I agree with many of the above, and would add:
Sarah French
Mark Evans
Samantha Barks
Louise Dearman
John Owen Jones
Lauren Samuels
and going back a bit, Sheridan Smith when she was in Legally Blonde.

Some of the names I was going to suggest have already been mentioned, but here's a few more names who haven't been mentioned previously:-
Lee Mead
Daniel Boys
Aoife Mulholland
Sierra Boggess
Tam Mutu
Jessie Buckley
Peter Polycarpu
Helena Blackman
Norm Lewis
If you don't mind going back further, there are some great older performances on the tubular website, e.g. :-
Colm Wilkinson and Philip Quast as Valjean and Javert in the Les Mis 10th Anniversary Concert (a masterclass in combining singing and acting!)
CONFRONTATION
Michael Ball (from the same concert):-
EMPTY CHAIRS AT EMPTY TABLES

Michael Ball is still as amazing a performer today as he was when he started more than 25 years ago.
Just have a listen to his Gethsemane from Jesus Christ Superstar or Epiphany from Sweeney Todd.

And Ruthie Henshall's I Dreamed a Dream from the same concert! Plus Lea Salonga's On My Own as well.
