Well I just checked and the new 8 hour Great Gatsby at the Noel Coward in the summer has premium seats at £117.50, surely that's something of a record

Wow. I guess you could view it as like seeing a matinee plus evening performance but that's outrageous!

My initial reaction is, if someone offers me £117.50, I might be prepared to sit through 8 hours of theatre. But actually, it might be spectacularly good, and as I usually play it safe with my theatrical choices, I might just go for it (cheap ticket though, obviously).

Looking at the national website normal tickets are not too bad - £40 ish for upper circle
Hard to say how this will do - the New York run was a sellout. Then again Jerusalem on Broadway was discounted at TKTS so "phenomena" don't always travel well!

Is this a transfer with American cast? Excuse my ignorance. Limited Internet access at the moment.

Think so - Elevator are an ensemble, and are reviving the piece in New York from March to May. So presume this is a transfer of that.

It's only 6 hours once you take out all the intervals. £67.50 (top price for the first couple of shows) seems reasonable when you think that's how much 1 production can normally cost in the West End!

The "premium" seats are bookable from Delfont Mackintosh, not the National, and are £87.50 during previews, rising to £117.50, which is a lot for one, albeit very long, production.

Premium seats are the back row of the stalls, which seems odd to me!
