I'm at DbD this evening, *because* of what I've read on here!

We all have our own various interests and I still have several reasons for wanting to see Damned by Despair. I wouldn't have made a special trip from Cardiff, partly because of the comments on this board and the general critical reception, but once I'd settled on my two evenings I leapt at the opportunity to see it at a matinee when I was on the doorstep. By the way, I have no particular interest in ever seeing This House, despite all the praise heaped upon it and despite knowing that I'd probably find it pleasurable.

Haven't seen the play. But isn't multiverse theory just an interpretation of quantum mechanics.

Or in theatrical terms, if quantum mechanics is the original play, multiverse theory is the spin-off.

So, as someone who prefers the Copenhagen interpretation. I should give this one a miss.

I think you'd still enjoy it - I struggle with the many-worlds interpretation, personally, but it still made for an entertaining 80 minutes or so of theatre. Plus I'm still in need of someone to explain the balloons!

I'm still a little puzzled that this play, rather than any other from the recent RC Upstairs season, should have been selected for transfer, unless, being cynical, I assume it's because of the casting.  I think I saw everything and thought there were better plays deserving a wider audience, though it could of course be that I simply don't appreciate the merits of this one.  Anyway, good for all concerned, i.e. author, RC, cast and those who missed out first time round.
