I haven't said anything about all of the anti-Welsh, anti-Irish comments until now.  This is still the audition phase.  As it's a West End show, perhaps they'll invest in a dialect coach for the actors?

I'm American and the contestants' accents didn't bother me at all.  I feel that there is a distinct pro-English bias in many of the posters.  They CAN BE TRAINED.  Were any of the Nancys REALLY from the East End of London?  I didn't watch the show from the start.  Were they the only ones worthy?

Oh, and someone better tell all those Aussies that they can't play American or British (oh, wait.  They do it all the time and brilliantly!)

Good for you

I think it has to be remembered that they all had several weeks of coaching in prepartions for the live shows

Some contestants showed more talent than others at taming their native accents

I've been busy all evening but I recorded the final show. Is there anything in it at all that might be worth watching, bearing in mind that I'm distinctly unimpressed by the three finalists? Or would I be better off just skipping it entirely?
Huzzah!

I am German. I have an accent so people tell me but I don't notice it when I speak English. That's the thing about accents. You don't notice your own but if you are playing a part that requires a certain accent you should at least attempt to master it. However, some folk just can't do this.
