The cast haven't been told an exact closing date but the person I spoke to said sometime at the end of September looks likely.

'Ghost' will be replaced in Utrecht by the new production of 'The Little Mermaid' which is currently touring the larger theatres in The Netherlands and will premiere at the Luxor Theatre in Rotterdam June 16th. And it will open in Utrecht on August 31st

Oh it's closing? I thought this might have had a bit more life in it. Although I do think a straight up play would have been much better - even when I saw it I wanted them to 'just get on with it'

Siobhan Dillon confirmed it on a reply to someone last night too, I think. What a shame.

I find it hugely disappointing to hear of Ghost closing in October. Especially as it's being replaced by a musical called Viva Forever, about the Spice Girls! In my opinion, London's West End doesn't need to have any more musicals based on pop bands/music stars. The Bodyguard, centered around Whitney Houston which is being released in October, doesn't sound so bad as it's based on an existing film that featured some of her music, but in my opinion, this musical about the Spice Girls is more about publicity for them rather than for the entertainment value.
What's everyone else's thoughts on this?

What makes a jukebox musical any worse than yet another movie turned into a musical? Also its not about the spice girls, its a show using their music. Jukebox musicals have been done for decades, nothing wrong with them as long as they are good shows.
Whilst obviously ghost had its fans, word of mouth has definitely been mixed .
