I had big plans to get tickets to the matinee of Priscilla today, then realised at the last minute the show isn't actually on at the moment     That really ruined my plans

Am hoping to go next week instead now.  Out of curiosity, anyone know why the show isn't on at present?
2012 SO FAR:  Strauss Gala, Matilda, Shrek, Oliver (Tour), Alfie Boe, Bring Him Home Tour, Pasadena Roof Orchestra, The Wizard Of Oz

BOOKED FOR:  South Pacific, Chicago (Tour), Spamalot (Tour), Phantom Of The Opera (Tour) x 2

It's their 2 week break. I think they did it last year around the same time. I believe it's so that they can carry out any maintenance etc with minimum disruption, and also gives the cast a break, thus cutting down the need for cover (I think the latter is just a bonus though!). Anybody have a more definite reason?

That pretty much is it. Gives them the chance to fully sort out any issues (the bus is hardly a simple machine to work) for a solid two weeks without having to worry about getting the theatre into a performance shape every evening.

Apologies for the random question, but is Selina Chilton (Marion) pregnant?

we saw the show for the final time for us, on friday night, it was brilliant and john brannock was on as bernadette, he was brilliant and put his own take on the character which was really good, and he connected really well with richard and oliver, also was pleasently surprised by richard g good actor and singer and was lovley on stage with benjy. and i think the whole audience cheered when ray meagher came on stage, home and aways 'alf stewart' who i think is the best ive seen as bob with clive carter a very close second, overall a brilliant performance last night, sad times when the last show goes out, but im sure the whole cast will go out with a bang and it will be a brilliantly fun night on 31st december, wish i could be there

I too saw the show on Fri night and was really pleased to find out that John Brannock was playing Bernadette as had read reviews before where they said he was excellent and I was not disappointed. I enjoyed his performance better than Don Gallagher. I have seen the show quite a few times and this was the last time for me as can't really afford any more visits as I live in the North East. The whole show was excellent as usual and the performers all seemed to be giving that extra bit more than usual. Cant really understand why this brillliant show is closing. It will be missed! Am looking forward to seeing what Oliver Thornton will be doing next as he has been brilliant throughout the whole run of the show.
