Thanks.  Just been reading about the restricted view.  Seeing as I'm only seeing the show once, I wonder whether to pay more and sit further back...

Hi

To be honest the only restricted view from the front row is mainly the feet. I have also sat front row dress circle  seat 33 which they say is a restricted view but its only the bar to the left and to be honest it does not effect viewing in my opinion, this seat is also reduced to £55.

As l have seen this twice, l don't mind missing the feet! The show is fantastic, enjoy!

Best wishes
Carol

Got there (earlier than intended) at 8:40 yesterday and was 2nd in queue. 3rd person arrived about 9:20. By 10:00 there were around 10 people in the queue. The weather was foul - cold wet and windy - which might have put others off.

Production is brilliant and well worth catching if you like (or want to try) Sondheim.

£25 side front circle seats are good - you miss very little by not seeing feet or the stage traps, and the compensation of seeing superb Staunton's facial expressions more than make up for the loss. The only time I was aware of having to look up a little uncomfortably was during Epiphany when the Barbers shop moves to the very front of the stage with Todd at 1st floor level.

Would have liked a larger orchestra for the fantastic score, but Adelphi orchestra were good.

Best set and lighting of any ST that I have seen.
The engine roared, the motor hissed,
And who could see that the road would twist

I went for day seats last Tuesday and Thursday (I was in town only for five days) On Tuesday I arrived at 8.40 and was the only one there until 9.45. By the time the box office opened we were only two. So I went later on Thursday and was the only person there at 10.00.

I think the day seats are great, you are very close, so the moments when the tension builds up are very intense and you really don't miss anything crucial and I'm 5.4 ft. The second time I changed seats in the interval and went back 5 rows or so, but I don't think you gain much from seeing whats on the floor (I still couldn't see the floor itself), since you know whats there anyway, from the action before.

I just got the souvenir brochure today.
It includes all the standard stuff: cast list, bios, production credits and obviously lots of gorgeous pictures.
In addition to that it has two articles by Matt Wolf following an interview he did with Stephen Sondheim: "The stage history of Sweeney Todd" & "The making of Sweeney on Broadway."
Before you jump to any conclusions - the last one is about the original Broadway production.
