What time are you all turning up to day seat?  thanks

I turned up at 8am on Wednesday and was third in line (the guy and gal in front of me got there at 7am).  People kept turning up every fifteen minutes until about 9ish. It was only once I'd got my ticket that I realised there was about 40 people behind me, although it was a two show day and I suspect many were taking advantage of the midweek matinee in the Easter holidays.

On Monday my dad and I arrived for day tickets at 8am, another guy arrived about 5 minutes later.  A few more people came but didnt get busy until after 9.30.  We sat facing the left side of the stage and view was good, didnt miss much.  The view from the end seats would have been obscured a bit by a table and chairs on the stage.  Loved the show, had only seen the film before so alot of the music was unknown to me, and it's stuck in my head now.

The £25 day tickets seats are to the left and right of the front row, the centre is not included, or at the very back of the stalls. The lower seat numbers give the better view. You miss a little of the show due to the high stage if in the front row, such as dead bodies and sleeping fair maidens, but still excellent value. Props and actors slightly block some scenes if you're sitting in the higher seat numbers.

I enjoyed the show, a lot different from your normal West End blockbuster.
I can't think out of the box as I don't have a box to start with.

I was the fella in front of you!I thought the show was wonderful, one of the best productions I've seen for a long time. Imelda Staunton is incredibly good - she wrings laughs out of lines I'd never found funny before, then is suddenly devastating in By the Sea and Not While I'm Around.

Michael Ball was OK. I'd give him marks for carrying off a role so far outside his comfort zone, but I wouldn't say I was wowed by him. His Ephiphany was good and there were some nice moments, but I just didn't find him particularly menacing or dangerous.

If I'm blunt, I thought Luke Brady was dreadful. His singing was weak and a massive grin didn't leave his face for the whole of act one. His whole performance just felt superficial and mannered. Quite nice chemistry with Lucy Barker though.

It was really the staging and the ensemble that made it for me. The set is wonderful (and effectively used) and every member of the ensemble absolutely committed to it, even before the show proper began. Between them and Staunton, they elevate the production to something really remarkable.

Saw it on Thursday - loved it, and it appeared to be a full house!

Imelda Staunton was wonderful, hilarious and moving, but I agree that Michael Ball was nothing remarkable. Thought the set and especially the lighting were very effective, and though she's had mixed reports, I really enjoyed Lucy May Barker.

Highly recommended - surely one of the best productions in London right now. One I would love to go back to if it weren't so expensive!

Out of interest, has anyone here been to the stage door after the performance?
Have Michael and Imelda been signing, and roughly what time do they come out?

I popped along on Wednesday night (I rarely do stage doors) and got there a couple of minutes before the performance ended (I'd seen the matinee and then seen Master Class which finishes earlier than Sweeney Todd), so I was near the front and could slip away easily. I'd say Michael came out about 15 minutes after the performance ended and Imelda followed about three minutes later. As far as I could tell they signed everything and Michael posed for photos (with a lot of screaming women). There was quite a few people there, some of whom hadn't seen the show (grrr..), but that's a rant for another thread.

When we were at the stage door, Michael took about 15-20mins to come out, he signed for everyone and took photos with those who asked.  Imelda came out maybe 10 mins later, she only signed for a few folk on her way out and didn't stop for photos.

Stage door wasn't too busy when we were there and everyone behaved themselves.

Was very disappointed by Imelda at the Stage door. There could only have been 10 at the most waiting but she only signed for two ("I don't do photographs") then ran off.
Michael was obviously in a hurry but still spent time talking to everyone and posed for photos. ***** performance.
I can't think out of the box as I don't have a box to start with.
