The Lincoln Theatre production which had much success on Broadway, winning 7 Tonys and managing a 2 year run will come to the Barbican from August 2011

Ticket prices are even more eye watering than the recent Les Mis, with most of the stalls at £65 and £85, circle at the same prices and even the upper circle at £40 and £30

I wonder who the Barbican are hoping to attract, as it is off the beaten track and most of the typical WE crowd don't bother with it

Personally I love the Barbican and BITE offers some of the best performance arts in the UK, but the ticket prices are a bit ridiculous

I cannot believe that is how expensive tickets are!

I am really excited for this production, especially after this: http://www.somusical...th-pacific.html but with tickets that expensive it is going to be difficult.

Better get saving up!

Any cast announcements?

I was googling around, trying to find tour dates (will NOT be going to the Barbican if THOSE are the prices!), and kept stumbling across "Samantha Womack as Nellie!" rumours. I do love London theatre but sometimes, particularly when it comes to musicals, I'm INSANELY jealous of people who live in or near New York...

Does anyone here know where the tour is going, btw? ;)

It wasn't cheap on Broadway either!

The tour is TBA but it is likely to include the larger venues around the UK such as Birmingham Hippodrome, Bristol Old Vic and many of the bigger theatres that can accomodate this show (likely to be similar to the Les Mis tour)

It is likely S Womak will be cast as Nellie (especially as she is leaving Eastenders)

Much as I love this soap it feels a bit weird to charge such high prices for a soap star (although I am sure she is very good)

Rubbish

I would advise

The upper circle seats

Those at £30 that are "slightly restricted view" are not bad at all

Otherwise the £40 ones in the UC are very good and the UC is actually closer to the stage than the DC

Personally - when I saw Les Mis and sat in the dead centre in Row B of the Gallery (the very last row of the whole theatre!) for only £20 - I actually thought the view was extremely reasonable and was very pleased with what I got! But that's just personal opinion of course!....

She is very good. Those who didn't see her in Guys and Dolls missed an absolute treat.
