I've just booked to see this (my first visit to the RSC, but hopefully not my last!). Directed by Matthew Warchus, it looks quite promising. I've heard that they're thinking of bringing it into town after its run ends in Stratford at the end of Jan. Run begins next month.

Is it performed on a circle in the square type of theatre?

That's an image of the theatre in question.. Winter's Tale I think it's set-up for, not too sure as I haven't seen it!

Essentially a deep but quite narrow thrust stage. It'll be interesting to see how they pull of all the Matilda illusions with the audience wrapped so far round.

They're changing the stalls of the theatre so it is more proscenium style, more end on than thrust. Can't find a seating plan that I can link to
Went in to the theatre the other day, set looks pretty darn good, lots of books with letters on them hanging above the stage, was only partially built though.
The actress playing Miss Honey was excellent a couple of years ago, so looking forward to it

They've added extra rows so that it is a much flatter stage than the normal staging in there.

^Oh right, sorry. So the normal thrust stage must be virtually in the round then!
