Will someone from WOS please explain why it feels its readers should be subjected to the disgusting venom that comes from our lovely guest poster normad? Why are there no moderators, why is his ip not banned, why is the ideal of non-registration so protected that hate-filled outbursts are allowed all over the board during night time and weekends?

I agree, WOS needs to appoint a number of moderators ASAP and I know that a bunch of us have already volunteered, myself included. I don’t know what is taking them so long to decide on this, I know I gave them the link to the Shakespeare group that I’m moderating if they wanted to check my credentials, and no, I don’t think that I’m in any way perfect (I can be irritable at times) but as a seasoned moderator, working on a basic “live and let live” principle but with a zero tolerance when it comes to spam, abuse, commercial ads and porn I feel that I’m up to the task. WOS admins, if you’re reading this, please, PLEASE get some moderators approved amongst us users so that we can get rid of these problems.

Well said Josh. On the big issues I am in full agreement with you. And at the risk of jeopardising my own membership of this board, leaving the board open with no moderators at all, even after the images of last week is utterly irresponsible. I appreciate that WOS staff are busy but there are people like Matthew who know the software and could moderate immediately so there really is no excuse for allowing this homophobic diatribe to continue to be published. Either get a mod or close the board out of hours.

It's too bad that you're right Skylight, as WOS will probably not be able to get rid of these terrible spamming porn trolls until they come into the office on Monday morning, yet another reason why we desperately need user moderators. WOS, please hurry up and appoint at least SOME user mods!
