Apparently any plans to bring Hairspray to the UK have been shelved because of the upcoming film !!
Ha dheard its back on the UK touring list, but who knows. I think its looking more likely it wont be happening in the UK. Ill defo make the effort to see it in NYC in December

Thats a real shame. I was really looking forward to seeing this in the UK. I'm sure that it would have done well even if it did go into the Shaftsbury.

I can't believe that people are willing to sink money into things like Daddy Cool and the Take That musical, but not into a Tony-award winning Broadway hit musical. It all seems backwards to me, but then, I'm not an investor...

Isn't that more a question of people investing in somebody's back catalogue just because they think its a safe option to make a bit of money.
I guess I will just have to go to broad way to see hairspray.

I'd love for this show to be on the west end,god,the sudden influx of bway musicals has left me pennyless.
