I would imagine he's rich enough to buy any Les Mis recordings himself...

He initially thought it was an Australian cast recording but I told him it was an international cast, but with former Sunset Boulevard co-star Debra Byrne and other fellow Aussie friends Philip Quast and Anthony Warlow on it -- and he seemed quite appreciative of it because he didn't have that one.

That's a great article! It's good to hear the other side of it from people in the industry (and not posting anonymously on here!)

Really great article, thanks for posting that CaityGlinda! So lovely to hear actors, fans and producers all speaking so passionately and enthusiastically about meeting patrons. It is always a small few who ruin it for the many - people who misbehave at the stage door and embarrass themselves and the cast are a tragic part of theatre going. I cringe if I ever see it but luckily most people are patient and sweet and just want to have a 'personal experience' that enriches their experience of their out of town trip and the production - some of the actors interviewed in that article have got it exactly right!
When Harry Met Sally (Theatre Royal Haymarket, 2005), Some Girls (Gieldgud, 2005), Billy Elliot (Victoria Palace, 2006), Much Ado About Nothing (The Globe, 2006), Metamorphosis (Lyric, 2006), Awake and Sing! (Almeida, 2007), The Lion King (Lyceum, 2009), Antony and Cleopatra (Liverpool Playhouse, 2010), The Children's Hour (Comedy Theatre, 2011), In A Forest Dark And Deep (Vaudeville, 2011), Gross und Klein (Barbican, 2012)
