Maybe they're modifying it, although it's probably cheaper to get a new purpose built one, rather than use an old one which may be less reliable.

I doubt they would modify something like that, I bet you its protected by a heritage foundation or something, would most likely make sence to start from scracth!

^Probably- I hadn't thought of that. Although I do think it did have a drum , as looking back at the 1991 Joseph production, the drum was used several times. I suspect it will get new show specific automation.

I'm nto sure whether I should book now and get cheap (but bad) seats, or wait for the discounts to come in, although I do want to see Danielle in the role.

Just saw that the production has been brought forward! Must have missed the announcement on that one.

If it is new to anyone else - Previews now begin February 7th, opening 1st March.

I don't believe there WAS an announcement. It was all done a bit on the hush. Most press/media now says 'performances from early 2011' (or something similar).

I've been told this is because they were concerned that it would lose interest a bit being SO far away from the TV series.

Maybe someone's got a teenie bit mixed up here with Into The Woods? As far as I'm aware, they've not completed any of the casting yet.

It's basically a stage revolve that can also rise up providing a 'drum' shaped object on the stage..

There are details here of the National Theatres one which I think is slightly more unique in its design but it'll give you the rough idea....

The original Palladium revolve was a twin drum revolve, which had two concentric revolves, which could move in opposite directions, and rise up and down.
