As for respect for performers. Yes I have plenty and plenty of that for those who have earned it. Being an actor doesn't automatically earn you a respect. Because, strictly and technically speaking, actors act because they want to, and not because they are doing us a favrour.
There are performances that make you feel that it is such a privilege just to be there to witness them. Those nights will be remembered and treasured by us theatre-lovers for the rest of our lives. Failing that, plenty of perfs are very enjoyable and pleasant, and we admire all the talented people who worked so hard to make it possible.
Calling expressing our opinions "abuse of actors" just shows the lack of understanding what performing arts are about.
As for POTO, the end seats of Dress Circle or Upper Circle front row are not bad. How much are they now?
I think 'abuse of actors' would apply if someone had tagged the performer in question in a post and was very rude about them. As it was, it seems Ms. Escobar sought out the opinion of someone by searching, and would never have seen it otherwise, and if you're going to do that you can hardly expect only glowing reviews. To my mind, it's bizarre to seek out negative comments and then complain that they exist!
