You should work at UCAS, with mediating skills like that we'd never have tube strikes.

How does a university clearing system help with tube strikes? Think you meant ACAS!

That's me LOL'ing again. I'd just completed two university job applications and it must have subliminally affected my fingers :-)

I went to see Ghost on Saturday and a woman in the seat behind me started eating a packet of crisps just as Siobhan began singing the most emotional and heartfelt song in the entire show, 'With you'. I nearly exploded!

This has annoyed me at a lot of shows I've seen, they play recordings telling the audience to avoid sweets with noisy wrappers, but the bar in most theatres sell crisps...was at Kimberley Walsh's first night at Shrek in October, and a family of four beside me all decided to start munching on Pringles, so not only was there crunching noises but the popping sound every time they decided to dive into the tube for more was seriously aggravating me and a number of people on the row in front.

Crisps should be frowned upon in theatres on the same level as cameras.

That annoys me as well. Didn't it occur to anyone that selling crisps and other noisy and smelly foods would piss off other members of the audience? Or were they just figuring that so long as they rake in the money the audience can go to hell? (The answer is the latter.)

Protesters at Habima Merchant of Venice: not as disruptive as some of the idiots who antics have been described in this thread. But then they did have professional security chucking them out. Dominic Dromgoole told everyone to play nicely and added with great glee that anyone whose phone went off would also be out. Please can that be made permanent?

A bit of tension, but nothing like having to deal with a school party of noisy kids shouting at each other and lighting cigarettes.

Particularly liked woman who put masking tape on her mouth and stood up at front of gallery bay. She spent next half hour looking to see if anyone was paying attention to her, which mostly we weren't. Attention-seeking protests seem to be mostly about the attention-seeking.

A heckler was told to piss off, a counterblast that got a round of applause.

Someone heckled the actor playing Shylock and inadvertently added to the drama of the piece because he was emulating exactly what the Venetians were doing to Shylock on stage.

I thought the protestors in the middle gallery were very well coordinated and undisruptive - there was a whole bunch standing in silence. I think there was something above me too but I couldn't see that. I suspect the searches may be a bit more thorough tonight as people seemed able to smuggle quite large banners in despite bags not being allowed.

Shame the actual production wasn't better though obviously the audience was very appreciative.

As someone who was sitting where the protesters were - they were bloody disruptive. Standing silently is all very well, but not if you're sitting behind the buggers... Agree though that it wasn't the worst audience I've ever experienced at the Globe.

Yes, that must have been rather annoying though it will make a good story in years to come . If you have long dark hair, I did see you sitting directly behind tape-over-mouth woman. The baby was really annoying though I've not heard one before at the Globe.

If tape-over-mouth woman was protesting in favour of stopping the actors performing, she's sending out mixed messages :)

Ah, not me - I did fear I'd be in some pics of the demo looking grumpy, but thankfully not seen myself so far! I don't photograph well...
