Who is Google.com? And why are they always here and never post? And why can't you read their profile?
I suspect its something to do with the search on the board but would love to know for my curiosity.

google IS google - it's one of their bots that crawls the web for their search purposes. not sure how it works exactly but it basically determines how far up the page sites appear when key words are searched for.

How can you see when they're looking? (Or whatever the right word it for a robot looking!)

If they are just crawling the site, why do they show up on the active users list?

it appears on the active users list. i've seen it two or three times.
many forums have software set up so it's evident when google is crawling.. they basically scour the site for keywords etc.
