I reckon the most uncomfortable seats are at the Piccadilly whilst the most squidgy ones are in the Palace.
Best and worst seats

It maybe just me but some theatres too tend to leave one's rear numb after a while.

not sure about squidginess, but the palace is surely the most uncomfortable theatre in the WORLD. i do believe that the only reason i was able to stay awake through the disaster that was whistle down the wind was because i couldn't get comfy enough to nod off!
i like the apollo vic and the dominion.. not a fan of the shaftesbury (uncomfy seats were also the only things that kept me awake during the far pavillions! that and my unadulterated anger at having wasted good money and time on that atrocious show).. was at the prince of wales the other day and found that fairly comfy.

whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should

I quite like the seats at the Noel Coward although they do have a short back.

Hard to notice when you're trying to work out how you're gonna sit there for 2 hours without chopping your legs off and stashing them somewhere out of the way. That place is AWFUL for legroom (in the stalls, at least... I haven't been anywhere else there yet).
It's nice to be better, but it's better to be nice...

I have always found the seats at the Olivier to be quite uncomfortable, but multiply that discomfort by ten and nothing - really nothing - can compare with the Menier for sheer agonising backbreaking hell. I have only been there once, but, unless I hear of a total refurbishment, and/or a resident osteopath on hand, never again.

Richmond Theatre's seats are pretty bad. The £10 front stalls seats in the Olivier & Lyttleton are terrible, unless it's a really enthralling production, then I don't seem to notice so much.
Turn up the signal... wipe out the noise

Royal circle of the Comedy Theatre- I actually moved back a row so that I could have a few seats (worth of legroom) because I just couldn't fit into a single one!
And best seats... hmm... the new Courtyard Theatre in Stratford is rather nice.

Manchester Opera House....pretty theatre but incredibly uncomfortable. In fact, probably the most uncomfortable I have sat in outside London.
As for London I have sat up in the gods at the Palace Theatre twice for different shows and I am vowed never to put me through the torture again.

I won't be called a baggage!
