it took me three tries to get through to vote for Daniel. 2 of my other friends couldn't get through to vote for him at all. Not that those 2 made the difference but did anyone else have the same problem?

Yep, it took me a few attempts to get through.

folks you have to remember that it’s the public who do the voting. ALW simply gets to choose who he wants to save from the bottom 2. I agree that Daniel has a much better voice than Lee - but obviously the public didn't see him, or Lewis, as Joseph this week.

As with Maria ALW and team can only guide the public, they have no control over the voting and can’t fix it in any way.

Ah, the smell of fresh bigos....

Yes, of course we remember that the public do the voting but the public are heavily guided in their voting and Lloyd does appear to be making some questionable decisions in regards to who he is saving.

The show can't be fixed, but the sing-off does allow it to be influenced.

Suppose the final is going to be between three people but the panel privately think that only two out of all their candidates have what it takes to handle the job. What they want to do is try to arrange it so that the final consists of their two best candidates and one complete no-hoper. The public won't allow the no-hoper to win, so they end up with a good result. What the panel do not want is for the final to contain a moderately good singer who nevertheless isn't quite good enough to be up to the task, because then they run the risk that that person may actually get lucky and beat the better candidates.

I suspect that what is going on at the moment is the clearing out of the middle ground.
Huzzah!

.....we hope!  The public can't always be trusted as seen by the fact that Craig hasn't been in a sing off for a couple of weeks when he totally should have been.  People are voting for him despite him being by far the weakest of all the Josephs.

From Dress Circle:-

"It took me half an hour to get through when I was trying to vote for Daniel last night, and when I did get through it put me through to Lewis's number! I called the BBC this morning on 08700 100222 and they took note of my complaint and said they will have to take action if other people experienced similar problems. I see from this message board that other people DID have the same problem - so get calling the BBC folks!"

Ah... sorry, just saw this on the different thread.

It took me 4 times. My friend also couldn't get through to vote and others on the dress circle forum have said they had problems too. I think its a fix. I know people will probably dissagree.. it is a bit of a far fetched conclusion. But I can't imagine why daniel could have got the bottom, he had a huge fan base. And I agree it was a fix on alw part as well.

I am interested, how can you tell that Daniels fan base was huge compared to the remaining candidates?
The engine roared, the motor hissed,
And who could see that the road would twist
