Peter Pan

West Yorkshire Playhouse

22 November - 31 January

To mark the return of whatsonstage.com’s Yorkshire site, we’re running a competition with the West Yorkshire Playhouse to win two family tickets for a performance of seasonal classic Peter Pan.

The Show:

The Darling family lives modestly and quietly in Edwardian London. Each night, Mrs Darling reads stories to her children Wendy, Michael and John in the nursery before they go to bed, but one night she sees a boy listening by the window and, trying to catch him, manages to pull off his shadow before he escapes. Later, he returns to recover it and accidentally wakes up Wendy. Telling Wendy and her brothers that he is Peter Pan, he invites them to fly back to Neverland with him.

Wendy and the boys soon become embroiled in the conflict between a group of vicious local pirates, commanded by Captain Hook, and the defiant Lost Boys, inspired by the leadership of Peter Pan. A decisive battle seems inevitable at some point, but when will it happen, and what will be the outcome?…

J M Barrie’s widely loved fantasy adventure has been delighting audiences for over a century with its swashbuckling fun, magic and vision of eternal childhood independent of adult control.

This year’s West Yorkshire Playhouse production is a collaboration with Birmingham Repertory Theatre Company, and is directed by the acclaimed Rachel Kavanaugh. It features music and lyrics from award-winning duo George Stiles and Anthony Drewe.

The Method:

Win one of two family tickets to see Peter Pan at the West Yorkshire Playhouse on 2 December.

To enter, email your name and email address to yorkshire@whatsonstage.com, marking the subject line ‘Peter Pan’.

The competition closes on 28th November. Winners will be contacted by 30 November at the latest.
