Tangle by the Unlimited Theatre in association with the Corn Exchange, Newbury runs at the Northern Stage until Saturday Feb 9th.
There are four characters in TANGLE, Malcolm (Jon Spooner), Hamish (Chris Thorpe), Flora (Lucy Ellison) and Jocelyn (Gemma Brockis) who lead very separate lives but as the story progresses they all come together.
Basically, we have two scientists who are working deep underground on Wimbledon Common on a project which involves teleportation and is on the verge of an incredible break though.
Meanwhile thousands of miles away on Americas West Coast, a girl employs a detective to find her missing uncle. As they put the pieces together the trail leads them across the Atlantic to the testing station, deep underground on Wimbledon Common. One of the scientists who works at the testing station is searching for her long lost brother and when she finds the detective is adopted and was on the same flight as her that crashed in America several years before, she wonders if this could be her long lost brother . War and Peace breaks out in Darlington

Tolstoy’s epic novel War & Peace returns to the stage this spring in an adaptation by Helen Edmundson. It runs at Darlington Civic Theatre from Thursday 28 February to Sunday 2 March. This long awaited revival first played at the National Theatre in 1996 and now returns with a new cast in a co-production between Shared Experience, Nottingham Playhouse and Hampstead theatre.
Split into two parts, and set against a backdrop of the Napoleonic wars, we see characters in a saga of love, youth, marriage and death. This production features a cast of fifteen who play seventy two roles.
The cast is Richard Attlee, Marion Bailey, Geoffrey Beevers, Louise Ford, Theo Herdman, Barnaby Kay, Jeffery Kissoon, Des McAleer, Hywel Morgan, Sophie Roberts, Vinette Robinson, David Sturzaker, Simon Thorp, Kate Wimpenny and Jonathan Woolf. CATS sell out stops on-line booking

The Theatre Royal run of CATS, playing until Feb 16th, has ensured the theatre has been playing to full houses.
The result is no further online bookings are being taken, its personal callers or phone bookings only for the rest of the run.
The Andrew Llloyd Webber monster moggie musical, back at the theatre after a 15 year break, is proving a great way to start the year. The production continues to tour after Newcastle until mid May

Fact not Fiction

After playing a week at the Theatre Royal, Legal Fictions, starring Edward Fox is moving in to Londons West End
John Mortimers double bill is currently on a short tour which included the Theatre Royal.
The production has now been announced as the follow up show to Fiddler on the Roof which is vacating the Savoy Theatre .
The Importance of Being Ernest and The History Boys are still playing the West End with the same casts, that while touring, stopped off at the Theatre Royal. This shows that we really do have the leading No 1 touring theatre that is often used used as a try out venue for West End bound productions.
