Darleks return, oh yes they do!
October 22, 2007
This years Panto Aladdin at the Theatre Royal features the Darleks alongside the more familiar characters in the story and bogglevision!
But previously in 1989 (between June 6th to 10th ) the Darleks visted the Theatre Royal in Dr Who The Ultimate Adventure, where the Doctor was played by Colin Baker.
The panto is the fatest selling the Theatre Royal has ever had, with the cast being headlined by Clive Webb and Danny Adams, the father and son team who are returning for their 3rd panto. Craig Conway again plays the villian of the piece and this year the leading lady is Faye Tozer, formerly from the hit group STEPS.
Each year the panto has promised (and delivered) a better show than the previous year and this time round we are being promised sensational special effects, stunning 3D sequences and an incredible Genie! They assure us you’ll even be able to touch the magic lamp as it floats before your eyes in 3D vision! Having seen this 3D (called Bogglevision) at the press launch I have to say it is very effective
Aladdin is once again written and directed by Michael Harrison who was responsible for our previous smash hit productions of Cinderella and Jack and the Beanstalk. With an extra week added due to popular demand and tickets selling faster than ever before.
