Lipservice Desperately Seeking Doris???

Local comedy duo Lipservice have a busy time ahead of them. As well as appearing at the Lowry next week in their hit show Move Over Moriarty, they are also seeing local singers to join a community choir.

Why, you may ask? Well, “Move Over Darling” and I will tell you, as it’s all in the name of Doris Day, Desperate To Be Doris, to be precise. This new show is produced in association with four venues: York Theatre Royal, our very own Library Theatre, Manchester, New Wolsey, Ipswich and The Brindley in Runcorn.

In each town Maggie Fox and Sue Ryding will recruit local singers to join a community choir to appear in the show. These local singers will meet for rehearsals once a week for a couple of months leading up to the production.

If you would like to be in a choir please e-mail the double act at info@lip-service.net.

In the meantime, you can catch this ferociously funny duo at the Lowry from Wed 13th until Sat 16th May in Move Over Moriarty.

Desperate To Be Doris runs at the Library Theatre from 22nd September until 3rd October.

But Lipservice would like us to point out that the show has not been authorised or approved by anyone called Desperate or Doris or indeed Doris Day.
