Monkeywood return to 24:7
Manchester based Monkeywood Theatre are returning to this year’s 24:7 Theatre Festival, running from July 20 – 26. Their new play Maine Road is one of many in this excellent festival for seasoned theatregoers and newcomers alike.
24:7 is known for its variety and this year is no different as the productions include absurdist comedies, dramas, physical theatre, dark comedies, storytelling and a psychological thriller.
For theatre-philes, the festival is a must as you can do an Edinburgh and see as many as you like, primarily because as Festival director David Slack explains: “The plays are an hour or less in length, so people will definitely be able see more than one of these in an evening.”
As well as Maine Road by Monkeywood’s Sarah McDonald Hughes (pictured, right), other highlights include:
5:30, by Alistair McDowall
Temp/Casual, by Steve Timms
The Last Chair, by Ian Townsend
Dancing to the Sound of Crunching Snails, by Joe Graham
