Last night was the press night for the hit musical We Will Rock You in Manchester. As well as the rumoured arrival of Robbie Williams (there to support best mate Jonathan Wilkes), Loose Women Denise Welch and Coleen Nolan rubbed shoulders with the likes of Brian May, Roger Taylor and Corrie’s Dr Evil, turned nice guy, Gray O’Brien (AKA Tony Gordon).

What did they all think of the show? Well, the surprise final curtain arrival of May and Taylor meant that there was a standing ovation. The dumb plot was ignored, as the power of Queen’s back catalogue took over and left the first night audience begging for more, rather than wanting to break free.

We Will Rock You continues at the Palace Theatre until June, before touring the country.
