RET’s Menagerie and Hour up for TMA Awards
Productions by Manchester’s Royal Exchange Theatre have won three nominations for this year’s prestigious Theatrical Management Association Theatre Awards.
Brenda Blethyn’s much-acclaimed performance as Amanda Wingfield in Tennessee Williams’ The Glass Menagerie has been nominated in the Best Performance category; Kate O’Flynn has garnered a nomination for Best Supporting performance as Mary Tilford in The Children’s Hour and Mick Hughes is in the running for Best Lighting Design – also for The Children’s Hour.
The Theatrical Management Association (TMA) is the UK’s major business association for organisations and companies including theatres and arts venues, involved professionally in the production and presentation of performing arts. Since 1991 the annual TMA awards have celebrated the creative excellence and outstanding work seen in UK theatres each year.
The winners of this year’s awards will be announced at a ceremony held at London’s Hampstead Theatre on Saturday 26 October.
