Award winning comedienne Dillie Keane stars as Angela in the one-woman comedy-hit, My Brilliant Divorce. Best Known as a founding member of comedy cabaret trio Fascinating Aida, Dillie’s many theatre credits include Me and My Girl, The Vagina Monologues, Charley’s Aunt and Grumpy Old Women.
My Brilliant Divorce is at the Opera House, Manchester for one night only on Tuesday, 2nd September.
THE SHOW:
When Angela Lipsky’s husband has a mid-life crisis and a mid-European affair, she finds herself adrift in a sea of shifty solicitors, a disapproving mother, a series of helpline counsellors and Christmas all on her own.
Bizarre dates, suspect purchases, a near reconciliation with the ex, then a singles ‘away weekend’ in the Welsh Hills brings about a surprise meeting and maybe some hope.
This achingly funny and heart-wrenchingly poignant play was nominated for ‘Best Entertainment’ at the Oliviers in 2004 after playing a sell-out season in the West End, featuring Dawn French as Angela.
Angela’s journey will touch the heart of anyone who has ever been loved.
