Natalie Casey talks to WOS Manchester

Actor Natalie Casey who stars opposite Jonathan Wilkes in The Wedding Singer, touring the country (opening in Manchester) from February – talks about sibling rivalry, Fame, musical theatre & 80’s songs.
Casey is best known for her role as Carol Groves in television’s Hollyoaks. Also on the box, Casey has appeared in Two Pints of Lager (And a Packet of Crisps) and Brookside: Double Take! and has presented 100 Greatest Musicals, 24: Access All Areas and Big Brother’s Little Brother.
She has been seen on stage in The Vagina Monologues at the Manchester Palace, The Flint Street Nativity at the Liverpool Playhouse, and Harold Brighouse’s Hobson’s Choice directed by Timothy Sheader at Newbury’s Watermill Theatre. Read more
Claire Sweeney returns to the stage in ‘Shout!’

Ex Brookside star, turned stage actress, Claire Sweeney (pictured alongside Patrick Swayze) returns to musical theatre in a new production entitled, Shout! Following her turns in the West End as Roxie Hart in Chicago and as Miss Adelaide in Guys and Dolls, Sweeney returns to the touring circuit.
You can ‘twist and shout’ your way around swinging London with our ‘fab five’ when the musical Shout, arrives at the Palace Theatre from 31st March-5th April.
Hi De Hi star Su Pollard stars alongside Sweeney. This Sixties musical features the infectious songs that made Cilla Black, Petula Clark, Lulu and Dusty Springfield legendary singers, so expect a real Sixties’ sing-a-long. Read more

It may feel a bit late to be watching Raymond Brigg’s festive favourite on a wet and cold January evening. But if you and your family are in need of a lift, this could be the show to chase away the New Year blues.
Think Matthew Bourne for kids with lashings of Christmas spirit and that’s exactly what you get in this dance/ballet piece from which has many new scenes added to Brigg’s original tale of a young boy’s Christmas Eve adventures.
For many in the audience on the night I attended, the opening bars of the hit song Walking In the Air was enough alone to leave them teary-eyed. But there is so much more to this magical production than mere nostalgia. Read more
