The Offer:
The Wedding Singer started life as a hit film starring Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler . This show is based on the 1998 blockbuster movie and comes direct from Broadway. Would you like the chance to go back in time to the 1980’s; the era of big hair, burgundy trousers and a certain Rubik’s cube?
Well, we have 3 pairs of tickets up for grabs for WOS Manchester subscribers on Monday 25 February, 2008 (7.30pm) at the Palace Theatre.
The Pitch:
Television star and friend of Robbie Williams, Jonathan Wilkes (pictured) is the leading man with Natalie Casey as his gal in the UK tour of The Wedding Singer. Wilkes has previously appeared in UK tours of Guys and Dolls, Tommy, Grease and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Casey, starred in the West End in Fame recently and is well known from BBC2’s smash hit comedy Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps.
Wannabe rock star Robbie Hart is everyone’s favourite Wedding Singer. He’s the life and soul of the party until he gets jilted at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie makes every wedding as disastrous as his own. Enter Julia, a waitress who wins his heart - only trouble is, Julia’s about to be married! Can Robbie pull off the performance of the decade and win the girl of his dreams?
Presenting the first ever UK National Tour and pre-West End production of this major new musical are the producers behind Footlose, Fame, Saturday Night Fever, and the current touring hit, Hot Flush.
The Wedding Singer is directed by Karen Bruce, director of the hit show, Footloose.
The tour opens at the Palace Theatre, Manchester on 18th February until 1st March. It then continues touring the country.
