Stephen Gately Leaves Godspell

October 5, 2007

On the main site, there is a news story relating to Stephen Gately’s sudden departure from the show Godspell. There is much speculation about why he has left the musical revival so quickly. Kelly is great in the role bringing his character’s vulnerability to the fore, as well as a feeling of unending desperation. During the musical numbers, this gifted actor resists the urge to overdo the vocals, seamlessly switching from dialogue to song with ease.
