Joanna Riding cast in Royal Exchange Husband

The Royal Exchange have announced the cast for their production of An Ideal Husband. It stars the award winning actress, Joanna Riding as the infamous seductress Mrs. Cheveley. It is the third visit to Manchester for Riding, as she previously played the part of Miss Gossage in Happiest Days Of Your Life and played Maggie in Hobson’s Choice for which she was nominated for a Manchester Evening News Theatre Award for Best Actress. Joanna has also won two Olivier Awards for Best Actress in a Musical (My Fair Lady and Carousel) and has been nominated for two Olivier Awards for Best Actress in a Musical (The Witches Of Eastwick and Guys And Dolls).

Joanna will be reunited with Simon Robson, who also starred in The Happiest Days Of Your Life. Simon will be playing the role of Sir Robert Chiltern. Previous Exchange credits include The Marriage Of Figaro, Hedda Gabler and Lady Windermere’s Fan.

Starring as his pure-hearted wife, Lady Chiltern, and making a return to the Exchange is Rae Hendrie (London Assurance, The Triumph Of Love and Knives In Hens). And finally, also making a welcome return to the Exchange is Milo Twomey (Harvey and She Stoops To Conquer) playing the naughty but entertaining fop, Lord Goring.

Directed by Braham Murray, An Ideal Husband runs from 11 December until 26 January.
