Any Dream Will Do Recap 5 And Manchester News

May 27, 2007

Did you watch Any Dream Will Do last night? I know this is a reality television show, and less about finding raw talent and more about ratings- but I think we saw another case of a contestant being stitched up, royally. This time the unlucky contestant was Keith. Showing footage of the other ‘Joes’ running him down for his ‘arrogance’ was real Soap Opera ‘villian’ stuff. Then to top it all - we then cut to Keith explaining that he may struggle exploring his ‘arrogant’ side! For more on the runners and riders - click here for last night’s recap.

As for Manchester, it’s a busy week for theatre - coming up.

At the Opera House, Cats continues. My thoughts on this musical are well documented. saw it for the first time last week and it was the most bizarre night I have had in a theatre. I could not see why the show received a standing ovation. For more on my thoughts on the show, click here.

The Lowry has half term sewn up with Danny Champion of The World. I will be reviewing this classic on Wed. They also have dance with Justitia set to wow fans of the hit show Park. At the same venue a satirical look at the world of celebrity chefs arrives on Thurs, Food. I am reviewing The Tempest on Tues at the Royal Exchange. It will be great to see Pete Posslethwaite again.

If you missed Someone To Watch Over Me when it played in London, the Library Theatre have their in house production which opened on Friday. I will be reviewing Justitia, Danny, Food, and Mahabharata. So a busy time ahead. I will post all the links here.

If you like your pop stars to be theatrical, The Pet Shop Boys are at the Apollo tomorrow night. The show is sold out. But ebay probably have tickets going for more than a song.

More next week.
