Cracking Lowry line up
If you visit the Lowry regularly, you will realise that it is a hit and miss venue. It has to cater for such a wide audience that they cannot always get it right. But over the next few weeks, they have some great plays/shows on the way. Among them, Angels In America, Office Suite, Kiss Of The Spider Woman - direct from the Donmar and Sondheim’s masterpiece Into The Woods.
Booking links for each show are below:
Office Suite
4 June - 9 June Starring Patricia Routledge
Angels In America
5 June - 9 June
Kiss Of The Spiderwoman
12 June - 16 June
Into The Woods
4 July - 7 July
The great thing about the Lowry is the different spaces; the Quays is the smaller theatre which has staged Taboo, A Thousand Years and Acorn Antiques. The bigger venue, the Lyric is great for musicals and big productions like The History Boys. I have not visited The Studio yet but hope to in the near future.
With such top quality theatre and a riverside bar, who needs the West End?
I will be reviewing all of these shows here over the coming weeks. Next up - Terre Haute review on this very blog and What I Heard About Iraq for the main site.
If you see anything worth watching on stage in Manchester, please post your thoughts here or on our board.
