Singin' In The Rain Co. splash out with WOS theatregoers at reception

Date: 23 February 2012

Last night (22 February) 150 theatregoers made their way to the Palace Theatre for our Whatsonstage.com Outing to the acclaimed Chichester Festival production of Singin' In The Rain starring Adam Cooper, Scarlett Strallen and Daniel Crossley. Bringing the glamour of the MGM musical to the stage this is a feel-good musical filled with fantastic songs, glorious dance routines and many laugh-out-loud moments.

Set at a time of change in the film world, Singin In The Rain follows silent movie star Dan Lockwood (Cooper) who has everything he could ever want; fame, adulation and even a well-publicised romance with his co-star Lina Lamont (Katherine Kingsley). But there are rumours doing the rounds of a new kind of film that could alter everything, a kind of film where actors talk... and sing... and dance.

With a set that actually rains - several of our audience members got a little more than they bargained for - this is a show that dazzles with its energy, joy and old-school glamour. The cast are clearly enjoying themselves and take the audience along with them on this story of that first Hollywood musical, the moment when the silver screen found its voice and never looked back.

Following the performance we were joined by Scarlett Strallen, Daniel Crossley and Michael Brandon along with members of the ensemble all of whom were happy to chat about the productions and its transfer, sign programmes and pose for photos. We do hope that you enjoyed this event as much as we did and please do let us know what your favourite part of the show was by emailing feedback@whatsonstage.com and do send us your photos!
