Our Show Is A Riot

Can You Dig It? is officially a "riot" according to our four star review on Whatsonstage.com Not one of those nasty riots but a nice riot - "a riot of pleasant songs". Read the full review here. This was our second four star review in two days, which was very exciting. We also got four stars in the Daily Telegraph although they got Dan Woods' name wrong. For some reason they called him Danny Stephenson. Read what the Telegraph said about me and my twin brother Danny here.

I was actually dreading these reviews so it's been a massive relief to discover that people think the show is good but now, it seems, the hard work begins. Dan is coming round tonight so we can staple our reviews to our flyers. As this is my first Fringe it will be my first experience of stapling duty. Dan, who has taken shows to Edinburgh several times before, tells me that you generally do spend most of your time stapling things to other things. I have had to go out specially and buy a stapler from the newsagent round the corner. It is some kind compact mini stapler. I do hope it is up to the job.

It was my birthday earlier this week and two brilliant things happened. The first was that a friend gave me a copy of Alan Titchmarsh's autobiography Trowel and Error and the second was that the fabulous Blue Lady sang me Happy Birthday at the end of her show Blue Lady Sings Back, which is at theSpaces on North Bridge. This show is a Fringe must-see, in my opinion. It has one of the most original concepts and its star - Tricity Vogue - has a simply beautuiful voice. It even features a ukulele and a chorus of kazoos - who could ask for more?
