DESPERATE SCOUSEWIVES
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the world of the real Scousewives; they throw bricks, not drinks, they don’t stick rollers in their hair where Sheila’s fella’s ma might see ’em, their idea of a ‘scouse brow’ is the one in Everton and the only playground they go to is the one they fling the kids in at the bottom of the road when the brats get annoying. And you could win tickets to see this new comedy at the St Helens Theatre Royal this January.
Written by and starring Lynne Fitzgerald (Four Girls & a Caravan, Bunty the Bouncer) & Claire Bowles (BBC Radio Merseyside) and featuring Lynn Francis (Twopence to cross the Mersey, The Salon) and Phillippa Goodwin (Liverbirds.com) follows the lives of four female neighbours in Liverpool Terrace during the lead up to the jail wedding of one of their number. Throw in a death in the neighbourhood, a couple of battered wives and some comedy dance routines and it all adds up to an unmissable piece of theatre.
