Last chance to see Dick Whittington at CUC

This weekend will be the last opportunity to see Dick Whittington and the Bells of London at Liverpool’s Novas Contemporary Urban Centre.

The pantomime will end its two-week run at the venue located in Greenland Street, Liverpool city centre on Sunday. Following a regional search (See News, 8 Sept 2009) for the casting of Dick Whittington, NDL Productions selected David Heath, member of X Factor group Eton Road, for the title role.

Heath joins Bruce Jones, formerly of Coronation Street, who plays King Rat. Jones was dropped from the ITV soap in September 2007. Speaking prior to his appearance in Dick Whittington, he said: “I’m delighted to be appearing this year in panto as the evil baddie ‘King Rat’ at the Contemporary Urban Centre and I look forward to meeting all the boys and girls, mums and dads and giving them the scare of their lives…ha ha ha!”
