Jack and the Beanstalk brings magic to Liverpool, 30 Nov

Liverpool Playhouse’s Rock ‘n’ roll panto Jack and the Beanstalk: These Shoots are Made for Walking written by Sarah A. Nixon and Mark Chatterton promises to conjure up a world of fairies, beanstalks and giants.
 
Adam Keast and Francis Tucker pair up again to bring their unique double-act to thrill and soak the crowd in equal measure! Jack and the Beanstalk marks Adam’s 10th rock ‘n’ roll panto for the Everyman and Playhouse.

They are joined by Marianne Benedict who will play Fairy Bubbles. Benedict comes fresh from playing the Wicked Witch in The Wizard of Oz at London’s Palladium and has also appeared in Dirty Dancing and We Will Rock You in the West End.

Toby Lord and Aretha Ayeh will play the lead roles of Jack and Allana. Lord’s acting credits include Henry V (Network) and Aladdin (Clwyd Theatr Cymru) while  Ayeh has appeared in The Quiet Ones (Hammer Film Productions) and Pendragon (Rose Theatre Kingston).

Matthew Ganley joins the cast having recently won Best Studio Performance in the Manchester Theatre Awards for his role as Ken Harcourt in God Wept and the Devil Laughed and is currently appearing in the second series of Jimmy McGovern’s Accused.

The cast is completed by Carla Freeman. returning to the venue following last year’s Cinderella last year as Sheila and Griffin Stevens who played Niff Naff.

Jack and the Beanstalk is at the Liverpool Playhouse from 30 November – 19 January.
