Wilkes & McGuiness Return to Opera House for Adult Panto

Last year Robbie Williams took take time out from his Take That reunion to
write a song for an ‘adult panto’ show starring his friend Jonathan
Wilkes
and Phoenix Nights comedian/TV Presenter Paddy McGuinness. Pantos On Strike returns to the Manchester Opera House next year.

Bolton-born stand-up comedian and actor Paddy McGuinness found fame with his appearances in That Peter Kay Thing, Phoenix Nights and Max and Paddy’s Road to Nowhere. He recently was seen on TV screens in the primetime dating game show Take Me Out and has recently completed a major arena tour.

Jonathan Wilkes is one of the UK’s most popular theatre performers, having starred in musicals like The Wedding Singer, We Will Rock You, The Rocky Horror Show and Grease, and this year saw Jonathan playing the lead role of Billy Flynn in Chicago in the West End. One of the UK’s most popular panto stars, this year he will be appearing as Dick Whittington at the Alyesbury Waterside Theatre.

Robbie Williams sang “Angels” on Press Night during the first run and with his time now over with Take That, maybe he will return.

The show orginally also starred Brian Capron and Eric Potts. It is not confirmed yet who will join McGuinness and Wilkes.

Pantos On Strike runs at the Manchester Opera House from 11 – 14 January, 2012.
