Moorhouse and Quinn in RET’s Zack, 7 December

Manchester’s own Justin Moorhouse has been cast as the lead in the Royal Exchange Theatre’s Christmas production of Zack. Written by Harold Brighouse, author of Hobson’s Choice, Zack is the unconventional, underachieving youngest member of the Munnings family, whose kind heart and nature eventually win the day.

Moorhouse has previously appeared at the Lowry Theatre as Captain Hook’s sidekick Smee in Peter Pan and alongside last year’s Royal Exchange leading lady Suranne Jones in Snow White at the Opera House.

Perhaps, best known for playing Young Kenny in the award winning TV series Phoenix Nights and his supporting role in Ken Loach‘s last film Looking For Eric, Moorhouse is also a regular on the comedy circuit, as well as a columnist and radio and TV personality.

The cast also includes Polly Hemmingway, Martin Miller, Samantha Power, Kelly Price, Pearce Quigley, James Quinn (star of TV hit Early Doors), Will Tacey and Michelle Tate.

Zack is directed by Greg Hersov and designed by Laurie Dennett and runs at the RET from 7 December – 22 January.
