Night On The Tiles Returns to Contact, 2 Nov

Following huge success last February, A Night On The Tiles returns to Contact and this time it’s re-imagined. The play is an electric mix of tightly woven wordplay and send ups of heist, caper and kung fu movies.

Directed by Montserrat Gili (Dende Collective) and with dramaturgy from US hip-hop pioneer Will Power,  A Night On The Tiles is described as a unique and ground-breaking combination of spoken word, dark comedy and theatre. The play is bought to the stage by Penultimate Theatre – heralded in The Sunday Times as a company to watch in 2010.

Pen-ultimate is a diverse collective of nationally and internationally recognised poets, actors, MCs and playwrights –Ben Mellor, Ali Gadema (aka Frisko Dan), Samira Arhin-Acquaah (aka Lucidity) and Martin Stannage (aka Visceral).

Pen-ultimate met at Contact as part of Contact’s Young Actors Company. They made their debut as a company at the 2007 Edinburgh Festival and have since performed in theatres and festivals including Contact, Kendal Calling and The Big Chill. A Night On The Tiles is their first full-scale production.

A Night On The Tiles at runs at Contact from 2 – 6 November and returns from 9 – 13 November.
