Vertigo bring Busch double to Manchester, 22 March

Vertigo Theatre Productions are currently producing a second Charles Busch play, the UK debut of  his long running off Broadway hit, Psycho Beach Party.

Both plays are presented as part of a double bill of Busch Plays at Taurus Bar, Canal Street, Manchester. Die Mommie Die will runs from 22 March for one week. Vertigo present Psycho Beach Party from 29 March for one week also. The plays are premiering during Taurus’ 10th Anniversary as one of the leading bars and fringe venues on Canal Street. 

“We could not be more excited” says Craig Hepworth the co-owner of Vertigo and director of the Busch plays “to be able to present one of these amazing plays for the first time in the UK is an honour, but to do two is a once in a lifetime opportunity that most could only dream about, especially a small company like ours. I’m thrilled that we are getting to do this and UK audiences will get to experience the genius that is Charles Busch just like American audiences have.”

Casting is almost complete and includes Dale Vicker leading Die Mommie Die as Angela Arden, a role that earned Charles Busch a Sundance Film Festival Award. The cast also includes Adele Stanhope as Edith, Tomas Lee Dunderdale as Lance, Terry Dixie as Tony and Dawn Mallitt as Bootise with more casting announced soon.

Emma Willcox leads Psycho Beach Party as Chicklet alongside Rick Carter as Star Cat, Mike Gates as Kanaka, Janice Hobday as Berdine, Louise Allen as Bettina, Neil Ely as Yo Yo and Adele Stanhope as Marvel Ann.

Tickets will be on sale in November for both shows and a special double feature price will be available.Vertigo hope to move both shows on to other venues.
